So me and my friends are setting off from downtown Atlanta and heading, over the course of Monday-Friday to New York.

Above is our provisional route but we're open to suggestions. We definitely want to spend nights in Washington and Baltimore. Can anyone recommend things to do/see/visit/eat/stay in/stop on the way on any of these between Atlanta and New York? We have stuff and people in both of the latter so it's the in-between bit we need help with!
Hotels, clubs, hostels, restaurants, landmarks, bars, stadiums etc. We don't have a huge budget but will be putting money aside for certain bigger things.
Anything would be amazing help.
