Suzanne Collins reports their documentation is being checked to see if they are in this country legally.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided the Timbuktu Restaurant near BWI Airport around 10 a.m. Thursday.
Records were removed from the offices, and employees were arrested. Anne Arundel County police helped.
"In this case, a number of warrants were issued to the owner of the restaurant, who may have hired illegal immigrants, also the harboring of illegal immigrants in houses nearby," said John Leopold, Anne Arundel County Executive.
Police activity also occurred at two homes right next to Timbuktu, but ICE
wouldn't confirm what was going on there.
WJZ also learned a restaurant in Middle River, By The Docks, was also the location of a search and seizure Thursday.
Twenty-nine people of different nationalities were taken into custody and driven in vans to Baltimore ICE offices.
CASA de Maryland, an advocacy group for Latino immigrants, says these raids are wrong. It's their belief this should be solved with national immigration reform.
"I think by arresting people, they will terrorize the community, and the community would be even scared to answer a census form," said Tarsila Talarico, CASA de Maryland.
ICE says it's committed to stopping illegal employment schemes utilizing illegal labor, and that businesses that do that have an unfair advantage.
"There are many small businesses in this county, state, nation that play by the rules, follow labor laws. They pay taxes, and they're seriously undercut by those employers who hire illegal immigrants," said Leopold.
ICE says it did not take the restaurant owners into custody, but the investigation is continuing.

Are they saying by arresting lawbreakers this will terrorize the community,is this the same as saying nobody should be arrested for any crimes , if it will terrorize the community per CASA de Maryland that even dangerous illegals should not be arrested if it will terrorize the community and dangerous illegals are free to committ and do any crime they want under the guise of if it will terrorize the community the police must not arrest the dangerous illegals but allow them to go free ?Why do supporters of illegals believe illegals should not be arrested in raids when found breaking the law?
As answer said, look at Casa de Maryland, another racist group allowed to practice their aiding criminals. I say RAID, RAID, RAID. Their criminals and deserve to be arrested just like any other criminal.
Because an illegal thats under arrest can not show up and vote for the democrats.

I agree with azz_tarc. Also they have the mentality of "we're human..we have rights.." What they are is criminals.. they have no rights, no status.
They for some reason think amnesty is coming its not at all.
The only immigration reform we are seeing is them being sent home.
On a certain level, it is inhumane.
For example, there have been cases where US Citizen children were essentially abandoned at school and orphaned because their parents were apprehended.
In other cases, US Citizen families were essentially left destitute because the sole breadwinner was apprehended.
On its face, no one, even immigrant rights advocates, is in favor of illegal immigration. However, there has to be a more humane of dealing with the problem. Tearing families apart is in direct contradiction to the stated policy of US Immigration; That is, the reunification of families.

Why this organization hasn't been shut down entirely by U.S. law enforcement leads me to be to believe that America's days are numbered. Just my opinion.
It seems that the ice arrested many workers and LATER they would check for their documents. I thought it should be the other way around
