I just got back from a bus trip to Washington and Baltimore?

I know it isn't always possible to stop at at a proper restaurant. We had many stops at food courts, I am type 2 diabetic. Why don't the food courts cater to diabetics. Nice fruit salads, even fresh fruit the one place had apples, oranges and bananas that looked like they had been there for a long time, not surprising at $1.40 each. Any advice how to handle this problem while travelling?? Loved Washington D%26gt;C%26gt; and Baltimore by the way - beautiful cities.I just got back from a bus trip to Washington and Baltimore?
I'm vegan, so I understand your distress. The food courts have a terrible dearth of healthy options, and I don't know why. Probably because they want to get people in, get them to buy the cheap crap, and get them out. If my boyfriend and I are traveling by car, we usually just stop at these places to use the bathroom. And while I truly hate the "Just get a salad" suggestion, if some place offered a salad at a halfway decent price, and it was my only option, I suppose I'd go for it.

I've learned to carry my own food when I'm traveling. A handful of dried fruit and nuts goes a good way, and there are probably plenty of food bars folks like you can have. Hopefully you'll be able to stop at least once a day in a place that serves real food. If you're going on bus tours, you should let the people know that you have special needs and see if they can accommodate you.
