Florida keys vacation- which one is best?

I'm planning on going to one of the Florida Keys in early October for a vacation. Which one would be best? My boyfriend and I are in our early 30's. Looking for great beaches, restaurants, nightlife and beautiful scenery. We like fishing, bike riding, snorkel and being active. I know not to go near Key West at Fantasy Fest. Other than that, what island would be best?Florida keys vacation- which one is best?
My personal favorite was Key Largo. National underwater park, easy access to the rest of the keys and not too far from Miami for easy flights. If you are going to drive in or rent a car, that would be where I would stay. Prices are way better than Key West and there are a lot of small hotels with a pier or small private beaches and most have bungalows with kitchens so meals are much cheaper than eating at restaurants all the time.

i would stay in islamorada. I went there last month to a resort called Pelican Cove n it was awesome. They have rentals on the hotel site. You can rent jetskis, boats, and kayaks. They also have an enclosed area to snorkel and they have a tennis n volleyball court. It is across the street from theater of the sea which is basically a miami sequarium if u know what Im taking about. It is a maine park that its very fun. Overall i would def recommend going 2 islamorada.
