Wedding favors question?

We recently had a change of plans and have opted for a destination wedding. It really makes no difference to the vast majority of our guest list since we don't have any local family and only have a few local friends. We've lived here less then a year so most of our friends are 3-4hrs away from where we live.

Anyway, we're going to have the wedding in Key West. It's our favorite place to go for a weekend away and my fiance proposed to me there as well. The guest list is approximately 50 total and is just our immediate families and closest friends. We're keeping it small and simple....A sunset ceremony at a park we love to visit then we're taking everyone to our favorite restaurant on the island for dinner. So we aren't having a true reception...more of a celebration dinner instead.

I'm planning to make welcome bags for everyone with water, sunblock, aloe, toiletries, snacks and a guide to the island. I will be delivering these to the hotels where our guests are staying.

Since we aren't having a reception do I still need to do favors for everyone? What are your thoughts on this?Wedding favors question?
Your welcome bags sound wonderful. Your wedding plans sound beautiful! I think your welcome bags are enough. Maybe enclose a little handwritten note in them thanking them for being there with you to share in your special day. You could tell them each why they are so special in your life.
I would say no to the favors. To me a favor is a way to give the guest candy and something with your names and date on it, which they will in turn eat and only half of the guests will keep the momento. I say if you're going to be making the "gift baskets" for the guests with all the things you described that should be more than apt to serve as your favors as well.Wedding favors question?
Cute idea, by the way :)

Welcome bags are a good idea. My cousin did them for her wedding. She made little baskets for all of the adults/couples. For the kids/teens she made specific ones for them.

It was sweet.

Good luck! :)
Favor are not now and never were a requirement. The Wedding Industry often lies about things like this.
No you don't but if you are planning I would do something beach or island themed
