Wondering if yoou can help me out? out of miami- south beach, sarasota-siesta beach, key west, and dayton beach. Where would you stay? I want a hotel within walking distance of the beach, want the zoo, aquariaum, shopping, and restaurant. Close to my hotel. Oh ya and is their any trollys in any of these citys? I want to stay in a place were the water is clear, clean, and warm. Please help me decide. Give me your opinions? are some of these places no safe to stay in? I'm bringing along my 3 year old so I want a place that is decent. ThanksWhere would you vacation in florida?
Sanibel, FL is the most amazing place. It is very touristy sometimes, but it is still unknown enough that you won't get the Disney crowd. There is a small zoo in a trailer park across from DQ which you can only get to by bike or walking. There are two islands and the beaches are rated best in the world. There is also a great nature preserve (the entire island is one) that you can walk/kayak through with birds, etc. The island is chock full of great restaurants (both known and unknown) and they are all great! (There is a place called The Stone Crab which has a great menu). there are also other islands around it that you can visit by boat which have great beaches, restaurants, fishing, etc. If you want to look it up, look up Sanibel Island, Captiva, Pine Island, North Captiva, and Bowman's Beach. you will not be disappointed.

As per your other requests: one cheap hotel is literally on the beach, while other resorts are also further down on the island and also directly on the beach. There is 1 trolley, but if you go there you will need to get a car, bike, segway, or something to get around. The water is beyond amazing, but be careful because some beaches are on the Gulf; however, there is a sandbar just off coast so the waves are mild. Also, sometimes, if you're lucky, you can see manatees, dolphins, pelicans, cormorants, roseate spoonbills, egrets, heron, etc. (there are also alligators, but not tooooo many)

I've been going to Sanibel my whole life, as has my sister, mom, uncles, cousins, etc. It is amazing!
South West (Siesta area). Lived there for a long time its always nice. And very kid friendly.Where would you vacation in florida?
