If you can make time for it, the Dolphin Encounter is unforgettable. As you travel, the Overseas Highway is literally lined with restaurants serving local delicacies.
check out www.KeyWestInfoCenter.com or contact me for better advice from someone who lives in Key West off%26amp;on and I have a condo in Key West!

key west go to all the cool bars. they are everwhere, and relaxing.
Squid row is a good local restaurant. Lorelei's is a great place to get a drink and watch the sunset. Try a drink called a candy cane. Its not peppermint, its rum punch and pi帽a colada layered on top of each other. They have good food as well. Both are in Islamorada. Bahia Honda is a good place to go swimming, there's a good beach there. On the way to Key West make sure to take in the water views you will have most of the way there.
Read my question its basically the same and kill_your_tv gave me tons of information!

Have Fun!!
Go to Hemingway's house, visit the pirate, founder cemetery, Truman's house, just walk up and down streets, eye candy. The area is pricey, so look into Hotel deals. This out of season, now, no problem. Have a great time. PS. Live in Florida, go down every year, stay in Marathon.
Yeah, Bahia Honda is a good place to stop and soak in the views and rays. Before you get there, you could stop in Islamorada (the second main island going down after Key Largo), at the Islamorada Fish Company. Gotta get the conch fritters! There's seating outdoors by the water, and also shaded and indoors. You can even stop in their store and take some soup or something for the ride (though they mostly sell fresh fish products, as you would expect). Or, you could stop at Mangrove Mama's cafe which is very particular to the keys, plenty of fritters here too and tropical drinks to be enjoyed inside or outdoors. Great, hidden-away quality to it. It's at mile-marker 22 at Summerland Key, between Marathon and Key West (about the last third of your journey).
