Should I Buy A New Truck Or Overhaul?

I Own a restaurant and catering company in Baltimore Maryland. We have 4 custom made catering trucks that cost apx. $35,000.00 each. Our oldest truck, a 94' dodge dakota is starting to have alot of problems. The transmission is starting to shift very roughly, it doesn鈥檛 have much acceleration. The hood is starting to rust, I need new ball bearings on the front two wheels, and just yesterday the rpm gauge started acting very weird and somestimes dosent move at all. My question, should I replace this truck with a new truck that will cost $37,000.00, or spend 10,000$ to totally overhaul the truck.

You can view pictures of the truck at:

Do you really have the time to keep taking the vehicle into the shop??

You've got your money's worth out of it. Write it off %26amp; buy a new vehicle. It will come with a minimum 3 year 60K mile warranty. One less headache in your business.

It's really depend on your budget on your company. If you buy new truck and you will have less headache to repair your truck and lose time to get it repair, and also you need truck to do your business. If you overhaul the truck, you might spend more money repair than buy it new one. You can use tax write off either buy or repair. If I have money I would buy new one.Should I Buy A New Truck Or Overhaul?
With the price of fuel and the action GM took on closing truck plants, there will be some reallly good deals on the market soon. Also, factor in that you can make a monthly payment verse spending all your capitol all at once. Im sure the truck would be worth the investment, but a new long term will benefit you better in the long run.
i would overhall that truck that is a good looking truck i like dodges and fords so i would get it redone!! but i would get ride of your chevy fast they just always die on me but keep it tell it dies then get a new one dont overhaul that truck
With the price of trucks coming down these days and dealerships willing to give gas coupons and great incentives, I would go with the new one. Besides, Chryslers don't last that long typically.
You could but my truck a 2007 chevy silverado 1500 crew cab that has 14000 miles. for 25,000
